Why Teachery is my favourite course platform (and what my bonus for the lifetime deal is)

In this blog post, I want to tell you why I think Teachery is the best choice for you if you want to start making digital courses yourself, and why I think it's worth buying before the price goes up on September 15th, 2026, but I'll also tell you about the few downsides of the platform.

If it's your first time here, Hi! I'm Amada. I'm a neurodivergent and multi-passionate creative who had to find ways to start working from home, because I didn't function in the traditional workforce. I make and sell clipart, blog about ways I've made passive income from home and share cool resources.

*I am not paid to advertise Teachery. I am an affiliate for this service that I have used and loved for over 4 years now, and I also help people migrate their courses over to Teachery (Two hours of free help if you buy Teachery through my link, more on that on the bottom of the blog post).

I've been obsessed with online courses for many years. Online courses has lead me to new career paths three times (journalism, translation, social media manager)! I've worked as a team member for an online course business selling a translation course on the Simplero platform, bought countless of courses, set up my own digital products/workshops on Teachery and helped people migrate to Teachery from other course platforms.

Teachery lifetime deal plan

1. Teachery is super simple to use

When you are creating your first online course, the last thing you need is a platform that makes you feel like you have taken on a second job in tech support.

Teachery is refreshingly straightforward. You can add text, video, audio, images, downloads, and embeds using content blocks, then arrange your lessons in the order that makes sense for your students. The editor is flexible without being overwhelming.

I also love that Teachery is not limited to traditional courses. I have used it for digital products and workshops, and you can also use it for memberships, downloads, coaching programs, client hubs, templates, and more. It gives you one simple place to build and sell different types of digital products as your business develops.

2. Teachery offers a lifetime deal subscription

Teachery offers a lifetime deal option, which means you can pay once instead of committing to an ongoing subscription. Teachery’s current website lists a limited-time lifetime offer at $750, with all current and future features included. In comparison, Kajabi, one of the most popular course platforms is $179 per month.

It also offers monthly and annual plans, so you can start with a free trial and choose the payment option that makes the most sense for you.

For me, the lifetime model is one of the biggest reasons Teachery stands out. In fact, I bought it years before even creating a product to launch, cause I knew this was something I wanted to do in the future.

3. Teachery has the best customer service

This is obviously a personal opinion, but after using Teachery for more than four years and helping people move their courses over from other platforms, I can honestly say that the customer service has been one of my favorite things about it.

Teachery describes its support as human support, and one of the owners, Jason, actually still does support work! So if you have a problem, you might end up chatting with mister Teachery himself.

The company is intentionally small, and its founders say they keep the customer base at a size where they can respond to every support request. That matches my experience: the support feels personal, friendly, and practical.

4. Teachery is run by awesome people

A platform can have great features, but I also care about the people behind it. Teachery is run by Jason and Caroline Zook, a husband-and-wife team who have been building the platform since 2013. They originally created Teachery because they wanted a simpler way to sell their own online courses without dealing with clunky software and confusing pricing.

That origin story still comes through in the product. Teachery is made for creators, by creators, and the team uses the platform for its own courses and digital products. They are not trying to turn it into an enormous all-in-one business platform packed with features you may never need. Their focus is on giving creators a simple, flexible, and highly customizable place to sell what they know.

The cons

-You will need to host your videos somewhere else, and embed them into Teachery (which is easy). Teachery does not offer native hosting. Some people use Canva (somewhat limited storage, so if you plan many courses or long videos it might not be the best) or private Youtube videos, but services like Loom or Vimeo is also great.

-You also might feel the need to have a newsletter program like Kit, cause outside of a few pre-set course emails (welcome email, completion email, new lesson email) you can't send emails to your buyers from Teachery.

That's it, really!

My affiliate bonus: Get two hours of set-up help from me

No matter if you want to make your first course or want to migrate to Teachery from another platform: I know that starting to use a brand new tech tool can feel overwhelming. That's why I offer two hours of my help for free if you buy Teachery through my link.

I can help migrate to Teachery from another course platform like Thrivecart Learn (any platform, really), help with design, answer your questions or help you set up your first course. Your choice! If you have any questions, leave a comment below!

How does it work? I will be notified when a sale is made, and I'll be able to see your email in my referrals dashboard. I'm only able to help those who are logged properly, so I recommend turning off VPN and make the purchase right after clicking my link (bookmark or email this article to yourself so you don't lose it, if you wanna read more and decide later. Then I recommend to come back and click again when you are ready to buy, if you know you want my help.)
